The Pirate and the Puritan is an amazing story written by an amazing writer. I happened across this book, not being the typical book I would have picked to read, and having never heard of, Mary Clayton. I feel truly blessed to have come across her writing. The Pirate and the Puritan was written, in my eyes, with no flaws/5(20).

The Pirate And The Puritan by Mary Clayton is an absolutely un-put-able down book. The characters leap from the page and the writing captures the time frame.

The Puritan Pirate is a compelling, intense and versatile story with a solid plot and packed with action and drama. The naval battle during the storm between the Audacious and the Santa Ana is vivid, very visual and almost cinematic.

Although I'm not a fan at all of the 'master-slave-pain-pleasure' play, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be/5. The Pirate And The Puritan - Mary Clayton - Google Books - Dangerous times, when the colonies of the Americas are threatened by Queen Anne's War.

5/5(2). The pirates are given only a share in the pages of this book, but it has some very fine engravings of such famous pirates as Avery, Roberts, Low, Lowther, and "Blackbeard." The third edition of the "History of Pirates," ofhas a quaint frontispiece, showing the two women pirates, Anne Bonny and Mary Read, in action with their swords drawn.
